I should have included in my OP that the battery is a year old and tested good, and I even replaced it with another known good battery to be sure, and it still isn't charging. I now know I have a good alternator installed, a good battery, but the 13.5V - 14.5V that is being generated by the alternator isn't making into the circuit.
